What is Deconversion?

Deconversion is a significant shift in belief. It's about no longer believing the truth claims of a religion.   It's more significant than someone who simply deconstructs some of their religious tenants and keeps the religious foundations in place.   Sometimes someone will deconvert privately, but still attend and participate in their religious group for a myriad of reasons. Other times, somebody will deconvert and then go on to disaffiliate publicly from their group.
